Move over aluminium foil, baking paper is now my new number one bbq cooking surface. It can also substitute aluminium foil 99% of instances in the kitchen.
Are you one of those who uses aluminium foil on top of your bbq hot plate? If you are, stop. I want you to now use baking paper for that purpose. You will discover it is much more tear resistant, it is non stick, it can even moderate the cooking surface temperature because it doesn’t conduct heat as easily as foil but it still allows enough heat to cook anything you can throw at it. If you want to slow cook a piece a meat just use a few more layers. Its as easy as that!
If you know a bit of origami just fold some baking paper into a tray put your meat in and whatever sauce or marinade you have, make another tray that is slightly bigger, wack it on top and you now have an oven.
I have no idea how common this is. Perhaps it is common knowledge and I’m late at arriving to its uses, nevertheless, its sure dam handy.
